Overseas M&A
E-Town Capital has engaged in overseas M&As through independent investment, supporting funds, and working with enterprises, with assets from abroad valued at more than $5.6 billion, which can fill a gap in domestic industries.
Silex, founded in 2000, is the world's largest micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) company, with headquarters in the outskirts of Stockholm, Sweden. It has two separate MEMS production lines (6 inches and 8 inches).
Supporting the fund for the merger and acquisitions of Silex (the world's first MEMS original equipment manufacturer ):
E-Town Capital acquires Sweden's Silex at CHF 662 million, in July 2015.
Chinese listed company will purchase equity held by the fund to build a state-of-the-art 8-inch MEMS production line in E-Town to get the industry.
In acquiring Silex, E-Town Capital introduced 13 state-of-the-art MEMS manufacturing process modules and over 100 international patents in 27 groups, and formed MEMS product R&D and manufacturing site and management system, and introduced around 80 industrial customers globally and a standard MEMS front-end OEM production line.
