New intellectual property operation model in E-Town
An online interview on Weibo discussing intellectual property operation and innovation and entrepreneurship was held by the Beijing Intellectual Property Office and the Information Office of Beijing Municipal Governmen on April 14, 2016.
Wang Xiaobo, the general manager of Beijing E-Town International Investment & Development Co Ltd was invited to answer online questions surrounding the intellectual property-related policies and the Beijing Key Industries Intellectual Property Management Fund.
Beijing Key Industries Intellectual Property Management Fund is China's largest intellectual property and the first that jointly founded by central and local finances.
The fund, which operated in the form of limited partnership with 1 billion yuan ($150 million), prioritizes enterprises with core patents or high-valued patent portfolios in the Internet and biomedicine industries at its first tranche, 400 million yuan in total.
The fund mainly operates in three methods. First, it will directly invest in patent or patent application for those innovations with a relatively high market value or social value. For the enterprises with high-valued patent or patent portfolio, it prefers to have equity investment and will also engage in a sub-fund investment of the outstanding patent operation teams.
