2nd session of Beijing Changrong Project held in BDA
The second session of the Beijing Changrong Project began on July 25 in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (also known as BDA).
The session is aimed at developing BDA into the Sci-tech Achievement Transformation Area, the Technological Innovation Demonstration Zone, the Reformation Pilot Zone, the Livable and Business-Friendly Green Urban Area, and boosting the high-quality and cutting-edge industries in the BDA. It will integrate resources, improve the investment and financing environment, and build a development platform for industrial and financial cooperation.
The BDA signed strategic cooperation agreements with a number of banks during the session, including the People's Bank of China and the Beijing branch of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.
In addition, Beijing E-Town International Investment and Development Co (E-Town Capital) signed a cooperation framework agreement with China Construction Bank (CCB). The two sides will cooperate to serve science and technology enterprises, build a science and technology incubation center, promote investment and loan linkages, and jointly build a CCB-E-Town Capital Science and Technology Incubation Center.
The BDA is part of Beijing’s efforts to develop a national sci-tech innovation hub consisting of “three cities and one area”, namely, Zhongguancun Science City, Huairou Science Park, Future Science and Technology City, and the BDA.
The BDA was built in 1992 and approved by the State Council as the only national economic technological development area in Beijing on Aug 25, 1994. The development area has always adhered to a model of intensive, concentrated, innovative, and environmentally-friendly development.
In 2018, the number of practical invention patents registered by companies and institutions in the BDA was 350, ranking first in Beijing.
In the first half of this year alone, 2,200 companies with a total registered capital of 24.1 billion yuan ($3.5 billion) setup operations in the BDA.
