The 2016 Beijing Microelectronics International Summit & China New Energy Vehicle Forum, hosted by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, was held in Beijing E-Town International Exhibition Center on Sept 27 and 28. More than 500 people from investment, industry and specialist sectors attended.

Integrated circuitry has become the key industry in Made in China 2025, and a synonym for high-grade, high-precision, advanced technology. Beijing is a gathering place for integrated circuitry's technology, talents and markets. The new energy vehicle industry in Beijing has made advances in key technologies, operation modes and charging stations, and is set to become the next 100 million yuan industry. 

The 2016 Beijing Microelectronics International Summit was themed on "Integration, innovation, win-win, push industrial development". Invited experts discussed strategies in integrated circuits and new energy vehicle industries to meet the demands of artificial Intelligence, Big data, the Internet of Things, and intelligent vehicles. Ten integrated circuit enterprises attended the exhibition.

E-Town Capital is a financing platform in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. It has used autonomous investment and supporting cooperative funding to launch overseas mergers and acquisitions in the areas of storage capacity, image sensor chips, semiconductor equipment and MEMS. On Sept 28, the CEO of Beijing E-Town International Industrial Investment Management Co., Ltd, Zhang Jianxun, gave a speech on industrial funding and cross-broader mergers and acquisitions, which he indicated are and always will be the key to semi-conductor development, still the basis of the industry. For the Chinese integrated circuit industry to surpass those of other countries, it must make efforts in those areas.

Half of Beijing’s integrated circuit enterprises, among them BOE, SMIC and North Microel Electronics, are located in the Beijing Economic-Development Area. They are all important in production of intelligent mobile terminals, panel displays and automotive electronics. 

Development of integrated circuit industries is the key to growth in the Beijing Economic-Development Area. This forum was beneficial in promoting the development of integrated circuits and enhancing related communication and cooperation.
